Infrastructure
We support infrastructure systems including utilities, transportation, rail, and civil environments. Our teams manage complex, multi-phase projects requiring careful planning, outage coordination, and integration with existing systems.
Typical Work Includes
- Power distribution and service upgrades
- Communications, fiber, and network systems
- Critical infrastructure improvements
- Utility and civil electrical installations
- Sequenced work in active corridors
Representative Projects
Marion Street Pedestrian Bridge
Liberty Electric supported the replacement of the Marion Street Pedestrian Bridge, a critical public connection linking downtown Seattle to the Colman Dock ferry terminal. The project upgraded the aging pedestrian span with a modern structure designed for heavy daily use and improved ADA accessibility. Liberty delivered the electrical and systems work required to support safe, reliable pedestrian movement and long-term operational performance in a dense urban waterfront environment.
- Installed electrical distribution and lighting systems for the bridge structure and approaches
- Provided conduit, raceways and cable routing for power and low voltage systems
- Installed architectural and pathway lighting to support pedestrian safety and visibility
- Supported structural integration through coordinated electrical routing within bridge elements
- Delivered power and communications for emergency and public safety systems
- Coordinated work within constrained urban streets and waterfront access areas while maintaining public circulation and construction staging requirements
I-405 Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project
Liberty Electric supported the I-405 Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project through a wide range of electrical and Intelligent Transportation Systems work that advanced WSDOT’s regional mobility and express toll lane program. The project required precise coordination across a heavily traveled corridor with extensive MOT staging. Liberty installed critical ITS infrastructure, signal and ramp control systems, communications pathways and sign structure components that support real time traffic management and long-term operational reliability.
- Installed new ramp metering systems including detection, signal poles, cabinet installations and communication connections to support corridor traffic flow
- Provided traffic signal upgrades and new signal infrastructure at interchanges and local roadway tie ins
- Installed conduit systems, pull boxes, junction boxes and vaults in accordance with WSDOT requirements for spacing, access and cabinet integration
- Performed directional drilling for underground ITS, signal and power routes to maintain traffic operations and minimize surface disruption
- Installed and supported new VMS, CCTV, and ITS devices including cabinet foundations, power feeds, communication pathways and fiber distribution systems
- Set sign structure components and provided electrical support for sign lighting, device power and communications
- Executed work in multiple coordinated MOT phases across a high volume freeway corridor, maintaining operations during excavation, structural work and ITS cutovers
- Coordinated with roadway, structural and tolling teams to support express toll lane integration and systemwide reliability
Portland Milwaukie Light Rail Project (MAX Orange Line)
Liberty Electric supported TriMet’s Portland Milwaukie Light Rail Project, a major infrastructure investment that expanded regional transit service and delivered a seven-mile extension from downtown Portland to Milwaukie. The work included significant contributions to power distribution, system integration and bridge infrastructure elements of the project. This effort required close coordination with multiple contractors and agencies and delivered reliable, long-term electrical and systems performance for a high use public transit corridor.
- Installed all joint use poles for power, signal and communications along the new rail alignment
- Performed bonding and grounding work on the bridge portion of the alignment, including the river crossing
- Provided systems quality assurance and quality control management for the systems portion of the project
- Assisted in the integration of electrical, signal and communications infrastructure across the entire corridor
- Coordinated with civil, structural, systems and rail contractors to support safe and continuous project delivery
- Delivered work that met TriMet’s public infrastructure requirements for long term safety and reliability
