Liberty Electric served as the prime contractor for the Yellow Line Feeder Breaker Retrofit and Station Control Cabinet Upgrade, a program that modernized traction power equipment across seven traction power substations. The work replaced outdated feeder breaker components, upgraded control hardware and improved SCADA integration to support safer and more reliable power delivery for the MAX Yellow Line. The project increased system resilience while meeting TriMet’s performance, safety and operational continuity requirements.

• Manufactured and installed complete low voltage compartment assemblies for traction power feeder breakers including new protection relays, terminal blocks and control components
• Installed new breaker doors with local controls, status indicators and an HMI interface for real time field diagnostics
• Upgraded breaker truck panels and replaced legacy wiring to improve reliability and maintainability
• Fabricated and installed new free standing station alarm panels equipped with Siemens PLC hardware, SCADA interfaces and a nineteen inch HMI annunciator display
• Reconnected field wiring, SCADA circuits and transfer trip systems and integrated all new components with existing TPS equipment
• Performed point to point verification, dielectric testing, functional testing and complete SCADA validation for each upgraded location
• Delivered complete as built documentation and provided system training for TriMet operations staff

Liberty Electric delivered the electrical and utility work supporting TriMet’s Hollywood Transit Center Improvements, a project that modernized transit infrastructure, enhanced safety and provided new utility systems for one of Portland’s busiest transit hubs. The work involved substantial electrical distribution, lighting, utility conduit systems, power connections and system integration required to support transit operations and public infrastructure. The project brought the facility up to current performance standards while improving resilience and long-term maintainability.

• Installed utility and electrical conduit systems, feeders, pull boxes and junction boxes throughout the site
• Provided power distribution equipment, panelboards, circuiting, grounding and wiring for transit facilities and public areas
• Installed new lighting and lighting control systems based on TriMet’s exterior lighting and low emitting materials requirements
• Supported traction power and substation related interfaces through coordinated electrical routing and construction sequencing
• Installed communication pathways and infrastructure including cable trays, conduit and routing for data, safety and monitoring systems
• Performed testing, commissioning and documentation of electrical systems in accordance with TriMet’s testing and reporting protocols
• Coordinated with civil, structural and architectural trades to integrate electrical work with station improvements, ADA upgrades and new site features

Liberty Electric supported the Broadway Street Improvements project for the Estacada Urban Renewal Agency by delivering the electrical and utility infrastructure that powered the broader street and site reconstruction effort. The project upgraded an important section of Broadway Street with new paving, utilities, lighting and pedestrian amenities. Liberty’s work focused on power distribution, utility conduits, service equipment and street lighting that improved safety, reliability and long-term public infrastructure performance.

• Installed extensive underground utility trenching, conduits and wiring for electrical and communication systems throughout the corridor
• Provided new PVC conduit systems including two inch, three inch and four inch raceways, sweeps, bends and directional bores to support street lighting and utility upgrades
• Installed commercial power distribution pedestals, PGE vaults, transformer pads and related service equipment
• Set new LED street lighting poles, fixtures and associated grounding, wiring and controls
• Supported ADA access, pedestrian realm improvements and new landscaping by integrating electrical pathways with civil and site work
• Coordinated electrical work with roadway reconstruction, storm drain improvements, concrete flatwork and site grading across multiple construction phases
